Somaliland is nicknamed as the Land of ancient mystics/sufis. The song below conveys a special meaning, as I believe that it has conveyed the message of our beloved Eric's departure on the 14th of February 2016. The wisdom that says hearts have ears really does apply in this situation. One could say that Qalandar came to visit and comfort us to bring such delicate news. Patrons know each others' stations, according to the Sufi wisdom.
Eric Reginald Lubbock, Fourth Baron Avebury, was our dearest friend. We will always remember Eric as our Qalandar, and a champion of human rights.
We will honour his work for humanity.
